When we planned our trip to Marrakesh, I knew that I wanted to stay in a traditional riad. It felt like the best way to experience the city and its culture. A riad is a traditional Moroccan house, which is usually found in the medina, the old town of Marrakesh. Also, riads are much smaller than hotels. Riad Emberiza Sahari is a boutique hotel that has only six rooms. This makes the stay very personal and quiet, even though you are right in the middle of the medina.
Upon entering the riad for the first time, I was actually speechless. It is truly stunning in real life. The staff took care of us immediately and served us fresh Moroccan mint tea. They have been so friendly and helpful during every minute of our stay. Talk about a great welcome!
The Room
Our room was quite spacious and I really liked the Moroccan-inspired interior design. The design of the whole riad is definitely Moroccan-inspired while still having some modern interior pieces. You can really see the attention to detail, which I really appreciate. Every corner of the riad is simply beautiful!
Service & Facilities
We had breakfast at the riad every morning. Local dishes are being served, for example Moroccan mint tea, freshly made Moroccan pastries (so good!), fresh fruit and so much more. It was a lovely start into the day, before heading out to explore the medina.
Even though Riad Emberiza Sahari is a small property, there was truly nothing missing during our stay. The pool area is located on the ground floor, which is perfect to cool off after a day of sightseeing in the heat of Marrakesh. There is also a nice rooftop terrace that overlooks the medina. It is the ideal spot to relax and enjoy the view over the rooftops of Marrakesh.
Is Riad Emberiza Sahari Worth It?
If you are looking for a beautiful boutique hotel in Marrakesh that is more than just a place to sleep, then Riad Emberiza Sahari is the one for you. It is a great choice for couples and first-time visitors in Marrakesh. The friendly staff, the Moroccan-inspired design and the location in the medina make it an unforgettable accommodation.
